Happy Friday the 13th! I hope everyone is having a super day :).
Today is Kitchen Tip Friday! I want to share a simple recipe that I actually just made myself for lunch. I am not sure where I got it from but I have been using it for a while. And It is the only way I eat tuna now. ( I know this picture does not look appetizing at all. However, I am not a professional photographer by any means. Plus, it’s tuna. How great can you make it look? Trust me though on the taste!)
You will need the following ingredients for this recipe:
1 can of chunk light tuna in water
vinegar ( I use either white or white wine vinegar. It is your preference.)
After you open the tuna and put it in a bowl, use a fork to break it up. I then put in about a tablespoon of dijon mustard and mix it together. You can add more or less depending on what you like. Then I put in the vinegar. I would suggest starting with a little bit, mixing it up, and then tasting it to see if it needs more. I love a lot of vinegar so I use about 2 tablespoons.
I then like to chop up olives and put them in. If I have capers on hand I will put that in too. Cheese is good chopped up in this. You can really add anything you feel would go with it. I then put the tuna in a whole wheat wrap and there is lunch!
This is very easy and it eliminates the use of mayonnaise. I tend to stay away from mayo because of the ingredients and how bad it is for you all around. I hope your next lunch is yummy!
